View From The Ditch Bank

LAST CHANCE WIRE BENDING---So where is this going, you ask? Oh! you didn't ask. Well I'll tell you any way. Those of you who watch the TV show Biggest Loser, know that at the end of the week, before they go for the weekly weigh in, they go through a day called a Last Chance Workout. A very in-tents, Oh intense, day of of exercise, trying to lose the most weight they can before facing the the scale. And any one who has ever been in a position to cut a piece of wire knows that if you don't have wire cutters you can bend it back and forth, vigorously, until it breaks. So what does this have to do with any thing? I watched the State of the Union wishlist speech last week. I missed a bit of the speech while being entertained by the last chance wire benders; namely Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden. Nancy was jumping up and down from her chair so often she would make Bob and Jillyn happy with her performance. And Joe, well, I kept wondering when his head was going to fall off and roll across the floor. He looked like a bobble head doll, except I wouldn't call him a doll. I guess if we ever get lucky enough for them to lose their jobs, they can get employment as personal trainers doing jump ups and neck exercises. And that is the View From The Ditch Bank.

  1. I am really laughing hard here. Out loud, even.

I missed the speech because I was in class, but I did catch bits and pieces on the news and I had two thoughts about it:

    1) Nancy Pelosi looked like a proud momma when her child is doing exactly as he is told and I wanted to smack her.

    2) No matter what you think of him or his politics, this year has been hard on the president. He looks old and tired. Love him or hate him, I am glad that someone is willing to do the job because it is a job I never want and it has really drained him.

  2. Of course this year has been hard on him. He's dealing with a global fall-out from that Boy-Who-Would-Be-King's last 8 years of idiocy. I mean, seriously, he made the US the laughing stock of the world, and paved the way for this global recession to happen.... A dead chicken would have been an improvement.....

  3. Your posts always crack me up. Mostly I don't know how you think up such a great post about nothing, like the best man and maid of honor. Thought it was clever. Love you and guess we are in for rain tomorrow. Eloise

  4. Course, since the President don't have the purse strings, he can't, by himself, put the country, much less the world, into a depression. Likewise, the current President can't solve the depression in the country, much less the world, by himself. There was a lot more going on than just the actions of President Bush. Dad

  5. Yes, I am aware of that, but having said that, the President is supposed to be a leader, not just some moron who can't even speak a coherent sentence worth of English, blindly following whatever billionaire happened to be dangling a carrot (or oil barrel) in front of his face at the time. He should be paying attention that what is going on and try to correct it the best he can, and put people in place that will help to correct it, not just make it worse and let his staff run amuck.
