A FEW MORE THINGS OBSERVED THIS WEEK

WELL, I KNOW I SAID I WAS GOING TO TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM POLITICAL THINGS
but I feel to make these two comments.
1. I just read a news article that I agree with. Now, regardless of your view of Christine Blasey Ford, there are many who feel that she had an agenda and that agenda was not truthful. However, she is being touted this week with being chosen to give an award to someone who came forward and reported the abuse in the Olympic Scandal.  Many feel that using Christine Ford for this takes away from those who have actually been sexually abused. Ms. Ford claims she doesn't want the spotlight or money, yet she is in the spotlight and has acquired around $800,000 in go fund me funds since she claimed assault 35 or 36 or 37 years ago. What makes her story so questionable for many is her lack of actual information and the contradiction of people who she said would back her up and then they could not.  If she was assaulted as she claimed, then she needs to be taken seriously. But until she can prove she was, she should not be touted in the manner she is and take away the spotlight on this serious problem in our society and those who were assaulted. And sorry, I did not intend this to be such a long paragraph.
2. A young girl, 7 years old died a few days ago in an El Paso hospital. I feel for her family. However, they were entering the U.S. illegally and were apprehended by the Border Patrol in a remote and desolate pate of the United States. She had not eaten or had any thing to drink for several days prior to that. She got sick while the Border Patrol were transporting her and her family from the point they entered the U.S. to the Southern Border Station in Lordsburg, New Mexico and then she was flown to the afore mentioned hospital, where she died a day later. Now, that is tragic and I am not trying to indicate any thing otherwise. However, the enemies of President Trump are blaming him for this. No, they were coming here illegally. She had not eaten or had any thing to drink for days, not the few minutes she was in custody of the border patrol between Antelope Wells and Lordsburg.  She was not put in a detention center as one California politician has indicated. While you may not like Trumps policies, really they haven't changed that much since the time of Clinton in the 90's, or even prior to that.  Yes, Trump tweets a lot and says a lot and carries on a lot, but the policies are still long standing and I am aware, living where I do, of people being caught, jailed and eventually deported, splitting up families long before Trump even ran for the Presidency.  OK  Nuff said.
3. When did these unsightly blowups become the norm for Christmas decorating? Will they go away or will it just get worse?
4. We have had a lot of cloudy days the last several months. I like it cloud up and rain, or snow. But if it isn't going to do those things, then just let the sun shine and keep these old bones warm.
5. Recently on social media, Ford announced a feature on their F series pickups. This sparked a lot of trash talk among said media users about Ford vs. Dodge vs. Chevy with each individual building up their choice and trash talking the other two. I will say this. When the economy meltdown happened in 2008-2010 and the government offered the big three, namely Ford, Chrysler and General Motors a bail out, General Motors and Chrysler took it. Ford chose not to. The backed up and regrouped, as it were, eventually eliminating some of the small vehicles that the public were not buying and retooling their plants to produce the F series pickups and their SUV's. They still produce some sedans, but on a limited scale. Chrysler eventually followed suit and they are picking up sales and have paid off the bail out to the government. General Motors chose to stay with their sedans and they went down. I am not sure of their bail out pay off, but now they have Seen The Light, as it were, and are closing some of their plants that produce the small cars and laying people off and trying to regroup. Too little Too Late, or a wise move on their part.  Time will tell.  Meanwhile, I'll stay with my Fords.
That being said, I was raised on General Motors products, have driven Chrysler and Ford Products all my married life and I know one thing for certain.  At some point in time, they will all break down on you at the most inopportune time.
AND THATS THE VIEW FROM THE DITCH BANK

SOME RECENT OBVERSATIONS

HERE IS A SHORT LIST OF SOME RECENT OBSERVATIONS.

They aren't any thing new, just something to put in a post that has nothing to do with politics.  Well, i think it will go that way.
1. How you can tell it is Christmas time.  The ads on TV or advertising the Chia Pets and the Clapper.
2. While walking to the post office in my little town I saw a man hole cover by the side walk. On the cover it said   "Sanitary Sewer".  Well, OK, I thought. If there was ever a case of false advertising that would be it.  Kinda like a garbage dump being called a sanitary landfill.  Just don't compute.
3. After going on 6 decades of marriage I realize that there are a few things that my wife and I just don't agree on.  And I am OK with that, since they are, in the overall scheme of things, things of no great importance any way.
4. Regardless of the turmoil in the world, birds still tweet and dogs still love their owners and they are not concerned with what any one thinks.
And that's the view from the ditch bank
